Find out the Holden Trax 2019 price today!
The Holden Trax was a solid new-car option for an affordable SUV crossover that excels in an urban environment. No effort was spared to equip the Trax with a host of valuable features and amenities, while the practical nature of the car made it a favourite for small families deterred by the higher price-points of the Mazda CX-3 and Mitsubishi ASX. The turbo-engine iterations will always be considered a superior choice - efficient, entertaining and excellent value for money.
First things first, if you're looking for a Holden Trax you'll have to turn to the second-hand car market, because in light of Holden's departure from the Australian new car market, this SUV crossover is no longer available to purchase new. Prices for the Trax in the used-car market will depend on the age and condition of the car, however, for a model released in the last few years of production, you are likely to be looking at a price tag of at least $12,000 up to the low-to-mid $20k range.
Unfortunately, the Holden Trax doesn't fit the bill as a four-wheel drive. The car was only produced and sold as a front-wheel drive, which means that it would not be suitable for off-road conditions, even light terrain. If you are hoping for something with more versatility, you might want to take a look at the Isuzu MU-X, Jeep Wrangler or even the Subaru Outback.
Car companies are scrambling to introduce small SUVs. So why is the Holden Trax, one of the pioneers of the segment, not selling as well as it once did? Sales of the Trax have hit the brakes – down by a third this year in one of the few booming segments of the market. Introduced in 2013 – six years ago – the Holden Trax was one of the first compact city SUVs...
View ReviewThe Holden Trax baby SUV was one of first to arrive in the segment, leading the way for open-minded Aussies ready to jump into a vehicle with high-rise status and enough room to still walk around it in the garage. It arrived six years ago, but has since been overrun in the same category it helped establish, beaten in sales by baby SUVs like the Mitsubishi AS...
View ReviewThe Trax is a front-wheel drive small SUV and the LS is the base-spec variant. Our tester – a MY19 LS with a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and six-speed automatic transmission – has a listed price of $24,490 drive away. The Trax LS is available with a five-speed manual gearbox, but it’s matched to a 1.8-litre non-turbo petrol four-cylin...
View ReviewIt’s a tough segment these days, the small SUV category, and the Trax has been playing in it for a long time now. Does it still have what it takes to keep up with the pack? The Holden Trax was one of the first modern compact SUVs to enter the market, but, with the current generation having gone on sale way back in 2013, the Trax’s time in showrooms now works...
