Find out the Holden Trax 2018 price today!
The Holden Trax was a solid new-car option for an affordable SUV crossover that excels in an urban environment. No effort was spared to equip the Trax with a host of valuable features and amenities, while the practical nature of the car made it a favourite for small families deterred by the higher price-points of the Mazda CX-3 and Mitsubishi ASX. The turbo-engine iterations will always be considered a superior choice - efficient, entertaining and excellent value for money.
First things first, if you're looking for a Holden Trax you'll have to turn to the second-hand car market, because in light of Holden's departure from the Australian new car market, this SUV crossover is no longer available to purchase new. Prices for the Trax in the used-car market will depend on the age and condition of the car, however, for a model released in the last few years of production, you are likely to be looking at a price tag of at least $12,000 up to the low-to-mid $20k range.
Unfortunately, the Holden Trax doesn't fit the bill as a four-wheel drive. The car was only produced and sold as a front-wheel drive, which means that it would not be suitable for off-road conditions, even light terrain. If you are hoping for something with more versatility, you might want to take a look at the Isuzu MU-X, Jeep Wrangler or even the Subaru Outback.
Compact SUVs aren't all created equal and they don't all follow the same path to production. Some, like the Holden Trax, were most definitely a toe in the water. Given it arrived in 2013, the tap had only just turned on and the water slowly warming. At the time Holden, Ford and Toyota were still very much making cars in Australia, the love affair with the Ma...
View ReviewLaunched back in 2013, the Holden Trax represented a new area for Holden’s line-up. Essentially a Barina on ’roids, the Trax makes use of the Barina platform boasting an enhanced ride height, greater visibility and emphasis on the SUV acronym (Sports Utility Vehicle) than its sister Barina model could ever deliver. Facing stiff competition such as the Mazda...
