Although it is no longer in production, the Holden Trailblazer was a creation out of the General Motors Rayong facility in Thailand. That came to an end when GM saw right-hand drive production as less lucrative to the company, something that in turn led to the Holden brand being phased out of the local car market. The engine in the Trailblazer was a 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine supplied by Fiat Chrysler, the same as you would find in a Holden Colorado ute.
The Holden Trailblazer is a three-row SUV-style wagon with seating for up to seven occupants, making it a versatile car for family adventures. In addition to seating for seven, the Trailblazer also features sidesteps for easy access, as well as seven airbags throughout the cabin. Perfect for off-road driving, the Trailblazer is a dream car for those that want to head into the wilderness and tackle the great Australian outback. Another 4WD seven-seat option is the Toyota Prado, but the Trailblazer is likely to set you back far less in the second-hand market.
One for the motoring pundits out there, but yes, the Holden Trailblazer is based on the same architecture and platform as that found in the Isuzu MU-X. In fact, the duo share many of the same body panels and the interiors of both vehicles are near-identical. Of course, there are some minor differences here and there, particularly insofar as design goes, but by and large, these two units are comparable when looking at the same model year options. So if you want something brand new that might be equivalent to the now-discontinued Trailblazer, have a look at the Isuzu MU-X.
That’s a smile. Yep, check again, definitely smiling. And it’s happening behind the wheel of a Holden Trailblazer LTZ. Low expectations of this tall, heavy, body-on-frame, turbo-diesel SUV are lifting by the minute. No, we’re not clambering up some impossibly rocky gully, or slithering down the side of a muddy mountain. Instead, the Trailblazer is comfortabl...
View ReviewAlfa Romeo has been hard at work refining the Giulia. The engineers in Turin have updated the infotainment, interior trim, and driver assists to make its beautiful sports sedan a better rival for its German foes – and they’ve done a pretty good job of it. But the more mundane, mainstream Giulia isn’t what the red-blooded Alfisti want to know about. They want...
