Enter the Colorado 7, and here you have a highly versatile unit that boasts a high-performing engine, dual-range 4x4 functionality, and a cabin that felt quite spacious and comfortable. Visibility is first-rate from the driver's seat, while build quality is delightful.
The Colorado 7 is an SUV-style wagon based on the Holden Colorado ute. It is no longer in production considering Holden has exited the Australian new car market, but it encapsulated the best parts of a rugged and durable Colorado ute and expanded on them through the practicality and comfort found in a family-size unit fit for up to seven occupants. Of course, you can also benefit from off-road attributes, as well as sturdy towing capabilities.
The Colorado 7 sports the same engine as you would find in the Colorado ute, which is a four-cylinder 2.8-litre turbo diesel from Italian diesel specialist VM Motori. It offers 147kW of power at 3600rpm, as well as 500Nm of torque at 2000rpm. It is a robust and capable engine that really put this series on the map some time ago, and which still holds up relatively strong to this day.
