Find out the Holden Calais 2019 price today!
Although a Calais is technically a different model from a Commodore, and in fact it was sold as a dedicated model, the crossover between the two is hard to overlook. In fact, in all reality, the Calais is effectively a luxury version of a Commodore, boasting a similar look, and many interchangeable parts. Of course, some upmarket touches inside the cabin, premium inclusions here and there, as well as a unique badge and you have yourself a Calais.
As Holden no longer produces the Calais, nor sells any cars across the Australian market, this model is only available in the second-hand market - assuming you can find one! Pricing for a used Calais will depend on the age and condition of the model you are looking at. Keep in mind that second-hand prices have skyrocketed in recent times, so if the price of a used Calais seems hard to believe, you may need to set your sights on a newer alternative that is still in production.
First making its debut in 1984 as part of the release of the third-generation VK Commodore, the Calais has been a name cementing the top quality of the Holden range over the years. It has often served as the baseline for developments to make their way through to the rest of the Holden Commodore range. Along the journey, the Calais has been offered with a V8 engine, giving it a unique position as Holden's flagship sports-oriented luxury sedan.
Since its release, we’ve thought the wagon is the pick of the new Commodore range, and here we take a closer look at the 2019 Holden Commodore Calais Tourer to find out whether it responds well to the SUV ‘treatment’. Yes, it’s built in Germany. No, it’s not like the Aussie-built Commodore. Yes, things have changed. No, it isn’t V8 and RWD. We know all that....
View ReviewIt may no longer be built in Australia, but the fact is the latest generation Holden Commodore is a very solid European designed, engineered and built offering that brings a wide variety of choices to the staid mid-size car market. Backed by competitive pricing and one of Australia's biggest dealer networks, the German-built ZB Commodore is available in lift...
View ReviewIt’s long, sleek and elongated, with a sophisticated air about it. There’s a sense of refinement that we haven’t seen for a while with Holden, and while it’s not your brash Aussie anymore, I don’t think anyone will mind that touch of European styling. Wagons have come a long way in design and they’re looking rather elegant. Inside is good, too. There are lea...
View ReviewRather than hogging the keys, we're slinging them to frequent site visitors, commenters and members of owner groups. The idea is to get a range of perspectives on a certain car, and pull them together in one place. Danny Joseph is a long-time Holden fan, and a current-generation Commodore wagon owner. That makes him the perfect person to spend some time behi...
