A solid choice for first-time car buyers, the Barina is a nice little run-about car that is dependable, frugal with fuel, and rather practical to boot. Although it is no longer in production, its style still holds up very well, and while it is simple, that works in its favour here if you are looking for something that fits the bill as far as a daily driver for the inner-city. When it comes to repairs and maintenance, the Barina is also rather affordable to look after, so if you don't mind compromising on a few safety or technology features, this could be a bargain second-hand purchase.
While the Holden Barina was a name reserved for the Australian new car market, the equivalent car in the United States was the Sonic, which was under the Chevrolet badge thanks to its parent company General Motors.
