Now that production of the Ford Territory has ceased, Ford has done its best to fill the void by introducing the Endura to local motorists. Based on its overseas model the Ford Edge, this five-seat large SUV is designed for soft-road conditions where its handling and refinement shine brightly. Being new to the market, every variant comes with the latest safety technology such as AEB, pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning, traffic sign recognition and lane-keeping assistance. In addition there are loads of convenient driving aids like parking sensors, reversing camera, sat-nav, auto wipers and headlights, plus adaptive cruise control. Although you’ll have your choice of drivetrain from which to pick, there is just the one 2L turbo diesel engine across the series, however it’s forceful and efficient nonetheless. Combined with a fluid eight-speed auto transmission, you’ll be moving through the gears at a brisk pace. On top of that, steering feels natural, with a high level of precision. Topping many other peers in the large SUV category, the Ford Endura also boasts enormous luggage space, 2000kg braked towing capacity and a generous level of room for rear-seat occupants. You don’t always have to wait for a new car model to take off before you give it a go, and this is one such example.

How much is a Ford Endura?

Prices for the latest Ford Endura range from $44,990 for the entry-level Endura Trend variant in front-wheel-drive, right through to $67,990 for the range-topping Endura Titanium in all-wheel-drive. Each of these variants are available as FWD or AWD, as is the case with the mid-tier ST-Line variant, which comes in between the two aforementioned price-points. All up, it means that if you have your heart set on the Endura, there are a number of options to keep you occupied, but you'll have to be quick as the model has been axed from the local market from 2021.
Is the Endura a 7 seater?

Sadly, the Ford Endura has only been available in a five-seat configuration within the local new car market. Overseas, the Endura is available with seating for seven, but in the Australian market Ford banked on the Everest taking up the role of appealing as a seven-seater to large families. As such, if you are looking for a family SUV that also has four-wheel drive capabilities, the Everest is a goer, particularly as Ford Australia has discontinued the Endura.
Where is the Ford Endura made?

The Australian version of the Ford Endura was inspired by the European-styled Ford Edge, and as such, it was manufactured in Canada. While the seven-seat version of the Endura was never made available in the local new car market, it was manufactured and sold exclusively within the Chinese new car market for domestic motorists.
