Locally, the Citroen C5 has been discontinued and is no longer on sale across Australia. At a global level, the model is still being sold in some markets, undergoing a rebrand in 2021 as the C5 X liftback. The model was pulled from the local market due to sluggish sales. Put simply, demand wasn't high enough for the model, and with such intense competition across the Australian new car market, the high production costs were no longer feasible for Citroen to wear. Keep an eye out for the all-new C5 X, which is its replacement.
Model year 2020 was the last C5 sold to Australian new car buyers. At the time of writing, the C5 Aircross remains the flagship model in the Citroen range, so you're not entirely out of luck if you are eyeing a premium car from a French auto-maker with a distinguished reputation like that of Citroen. As alluded to above, the C5 is also still being produced in some overseas markets, but it has been given a new name, the C5 X. There is good news at hand for local new car buyers, with the C5 X marketed for Australia in late 2022.
There are three variants of the Citroen C5 Aircross currently on sale across Australia, each with a petrol engine. Based on Citroen's Suggested Retail Pricing, the entry-level variant is the Feel, priced from $42,990. There are two versions of the Shine variant available, one priced at $46,990, and the other priced at $49,340. Each of these prices are before on-road costs like stamp duty, dealer delivery fee, registration and other government charges.
