It’s a case of better late than never as they say, with the brand new Citroen C4 arriving a year after its launch in Europe, and with a very late 2021 arrival, this is effectively an MY22 car. It’s petrol only for the time being, but the 1.2-litre motor is snappy and offers great bite thanks to either 96kW and 230Nm or 114kW and 240Nm depending on the spec you opt for. The inclusion of an eight-speed torque converter auto will be a sigh of relief for many motoring enthusiasts, offering gear changes that glide seamlessly and with delicate precision. The C4 is also delightfully frugal when it comes to fuel economy, something that puts it in good stead against other compact SUVs on the market. As you would expect from a European name in this age, the interior of the C4 is fitted out with all the modern comforts and features that engage the senses, including dual-zone climate control, heads-up display, heated front seats, a 10-inch infotainment screen with smartphone functionality, plus loads more. With seven airbags and advanced safety tech as standard, the new C4 really does tick all the right boxes and is most certainly worth the wait. New car buyers would be lucky to call this unit their own.
