  BMW uses the 'Li' acronym to denote the cars in its line-up that are long wheelbase sedans. More specifically, the abbreviation stands for 'Long Injected', with the L referencing the longer wheelbase, and the i referring to the fuel-injected nature of the car - that is, it is a petrol model. Models from within the 7 Series, including the 740Li and the M760Li are among those carrying the Li reference, which offer additional legroom in the rear of the cabin.
