Find out the BMW M5 2018 price today!
With two models currently on offer for local new car buyers, the BMW M5 will set you back either $244,900 plus on-road costs for the M5 Competition, or $274,900 before on-road costs for the M5 CS. In the case of the CS, if you are looking for a more definitive price, it is priced from $305,900 drive-away. As you might expect at this price-point, BMW will have limited stock for the M5, which means only a lucky few will be able to call this gem their own.
If you're trying to split this phenomenal duo, you might be hard pressed to pick a winner. That extends to their performance on the road, or track for that matter. In terms of sheer pace, the M5 and M6 are quite similar, which is no real surprise considering the duo share the same 560 horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine, and also come in relatively close on the scales in terms of weight. Nonetheless, the M6 and M5 are both pretty comparable from 0-100 km/h, and your best bet might depend on which variant you can afford, as the ultra-rare M5 CS is one of the fastest cars money can buy.
It's very easy to categorise the BMW M5 as a supercar, what with its astonishing speed and incredible dynamics. It might not have the same reputation as a Ferrari, or McLaren for that matter, which are both first-name supercars, however, the performance, dynamics, luxury and price of the M5 all very much warrant that it is classified a supercar - and one that you won't regret choosing!
The all-new sixth-generation BMW M5 is the fastest M car ever built by the German skunkworks. And it's also, arguably, the greatest BMW ever.
View ReviewOf the minor criticisms you might have levelled at the current generation BMW M5, a dearth of horsepower has never been a shortcoming. Arriving in Australia only seven months ago, the F90-generation M5 sported the sort of chest-thumping, laugh-inducing go-forward as a stein-swigging German at Octoberfest. In all, 441kW and 750Nm – enough to launch the 2.0-to...
View ReviewRemember back when people were saying the BMW M5 would lose a little something by shifting from its traditional rear-wheel drive set-up to all-wheel drive? It would drain a little sparkle, maybe. Or some excitement. It would become more predictable, more placid - hell, even boring. But hindsight is always 20/20, and we know now that switching to AWD has done...
View Review“This is the fastest BMW M car ever built.” So goes the spiel at the local launch of the sixth-generation 2018 BMW M5. What’s that, I hear you say? An understated four-door sedan the fastest BMW M ever? How can that be? It doesn’t even look that fast? And it’s true. It doesn’t. Where its rivals – heck, where even its own M Division siblings – add plenty of e...
View ReviewLet's cut to the chase, BMW’s new Competition-badged M5 isn’t going to transport you into another dimension of supercar-decimating straight line speed. Munich hasn’t overhauled the (admittedly, already ferocious) powertrain like it has with the M2 Competition, meaning the M5 Comp’s key specs are so similar to the base model from which it’s based, you might p...
