Find out the BMW i3 2018 price today!
The BMW i3 is offered as an all-electric car in its primary format, which is ideal for environmentally-conscious drivers or those looking to make the switch to a more fuel efficient vehicle. It does, however, also come with the option to include a standard petrol-powered engine alongside the battery motor, which is intended to increase the car's driving range, which may be a sticking point for some new car buyers.
For the time being, the i3 is still being sold in Australia, however, the German auto-maker has signalled that the end-of-the-line is nearing for this stylish electric hatch. First launched in 2013, the success of the BMW i3 has provided the company with extensive experience and knowledge to develop its next-generation of BMW electric vehicles. Production will cease at a global level in line with an ever-increasing number of new car buyers shifting away from pint-sized vehicles.
In overseas markets the battery used in the BMW i3 comes with an eight-year, 100,000 miles warranty, which has become fairly common within the industry in this day and age. That is equivalent to around 160,000 kilometres, or 20,000 kilometres per year. If you need any proof around the longevity of the i3 battery, however, you can just take one glimpse at some of the early models from this series, which are still driving around in good order, and retaining a high price in the second-hand car market.
A mid-life update to BMW's i3 electric green-car sees changes to styling and technology as well as charging improvements to the German manufacturer's pioneering EV. In pure electric form (a 94Ah battery), a 200km claimed driving range remains but opt for the range extender (REX) variant of the i3 that benefits from the addition of a petrol engine and your po...
View ReviewI'm confused. I'm not entirely sure the world needed this car. It's the new 2018 BMW i3s, a new sportier version of the regular BMW i3. Why am I not sure if the world needed it? Well, I would have thought i3 buyers were eco-greenies? People who are more into lower emissions than lower 0-100km/h times? But, what do you know - the new i3s has both of those bas...
View ReviewThe BMW i3 has always been a bit of an oddball. Now in post-facelift (or LCI) guise, the likeable electric runabout has been given a makeover. With a wider track, bigger wheels and lower suspension – not to mention its red-and-black paint – it still turns heads. Even after a facelift, there are a few questions still hanging over its head, mostly in the form...
View ReviewIn an attempt to marry its past (cool driver’s cars) and its future (electrically-powered mobility) BMW has injected some sportiness into its i3 EV. The ingredients are there for an entertaining drive: super-stiff carbon construction, a low centre of gravity, light weight and plenty of instant electric torque being delivered to the rear wheels. The i3S build...
