Find out the BMW i3 2016 price today!
The BMW i3 is offered as an all-electric car in its primary format, which is ideal for environmentally-conscious drivers or those looking to make the switch to a more fuel efficient vehicle. It does, however, also come with the option to include a standard petrol-powered engine alongside the battery motor, which is intended to increase the car's driving range, which may be a sticking point for some new car buyers.
For the time being, the i3 is still being sold in Australia, however, the German auto-maker has signalled that the end-of-the-line is nearing for this stylish electric hatch. First launched in 2013, the success of the BMW i3 has provided the company with extensive experience and knowledge to develop its next-generation of BMW electric vehicles. Production will cease at a global level in line with an ever-increasing number of new car buyers shifting away from pint-sized vehicles.
In overseas markets the battery used in the BMW i3 comes with an eight-year, 100,000 miles warranty, which has become fairly common within the industry in this day and age. That is equivalent to around 160,000 kilometres, or 20,000 kilometres per year. If you need any proof around the longevity of the i3 battery, however, you can just take one glimpse at some of the early models from this series, which are still driving around in good order, and retaining a high price in the second-hand car market.
BMW i3 94Ah REX Local Launch Melbourne, Vic BMW Australia only averages about 10 sales a month for its odd-looking i3 electric vehicle. But that number should lift with the arrival of a 94Ah option to increase the real-world range from 130-200km. BMW anticipates buyers to desert the range-extending ('REX') version in favour of the 94Ah pure-electric option,...
View ReviewPeter Anderson road tests and reviews the new BMW i3 REX 94Ah with specs, fuel consumption and verdict. Range anxiety. Anyone who has driven an electric car has had it, whether it was a Tesla being thrashed or a Nissan Leaf being babied between charges. To highlight anxiety, we in the motoring media indulge in a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy of either pro...
View ReviewYou would be surprised at the number of people who have come up to me and asked me: "what is that car?" You also may be surprised at the number of people who comment on its looks; both positive and negative remarks. Either way it is a car that prompts conversation and I think that is a good thing. Once I answer that it is an electric car, made in a factory p...

WHAT IS IT?BMW has packed more punch into the batteries of the 2014 Wheels Car of the Year winner, increasing its range by more than 50 percent. WHY WE’RE TESTING ITBMW’s boffins have managed to squeeze more electrolyt...
