BMW i3 Now entering its sixth year on our shores, the BMW i3 is the German manufacturer’s answer to the growing prominence of electric vehicles. One of the main constraints to date regarding this fuel technology has been the limited driving range available before charging, however things have gotten better. BMW has increased range in the 94Ah following the introduction of a 33kWh battery a few years back, now offering 200km in real world operation. There is however, the option of range extender (REX) variants, which provide as much as 120km or so extra distance. Meanwhile, the 2019 120Ah model has an improved 42kWh battery, allowing for up to 260km distance as standard. Thanks to its lightweight design, the i3 is a hatch with nimble deftness and prompt acceleration. Sport configurations are available for each of the main versions, with a slight boost in power driving quicker movement, in addition to firmer suspension and wider wheels for more grip. It’s also a smart and futuristic looking hatch, with its compact size a delight to guide through narrow inner-city streets and difficult parking spots. There’s plenty of inclusions to help drivers and ensure the safety of occupants, along with a refined cabin and resourceful technology. Be part of the growing trend and join this pioneering movement.

BMW i3 Review

The BMW i3 range hasn’t turned the world of motoring on its head in quite the way its futuristic looks might suggest. It is, however, a pivotal part of the foundation of what an electrified future might look like. Since first going on sale in Australia at the end of 2014, the BMW i3 has almost doubled its potential driving range. In the case of the 2019 i3,...

A mid-life update to BMW's i3 electric green-car sees changes to styling and technology as well as charging improvements to the German manufacturer's pioneering EV. In pure electric form (a 94Ah battery), a 200km claimed driving range remains but opt for the range extender (REX) variant of the i3 that benefits from the addition of a petrol engine and your po...

For a compact, four-seat hatch the BMW i3s is all the money at $70,900, before on-road costs. Close to $20K more than even the top-spec ‘Premium’ version of Hyundai’s Ioniq electric hatch ($52,490), and even further away from Renault’s cute little Zoe ($49,490). But a carbon monocoque body and high-tech powertrain don’t come cheap, and that’s where BMW’s ‘i’...

TIMING is everything. Back in 2014, the brilliant i3 60Ah was the first EV to scoop COTY, bringing enigmatic and audacious design, packaging and engineering, while still encapsulating BMW dynamic appeal. Perhaps more so than many of its stablemates. Created as a premium urban runabout, that early version’s circa-160km range was par for the course given its 2...

One quick click and I was put in touch with the dealership sales manager who provided excellent service. No need to talk to sales people who are not the decision makers in the dealership.
