Find out the Audi S8 2020 price today!
The Audi S8 retails for around $260,000 before on-road costs such as stamp duty, dealer delivery fees, registration, and any other government charges. For the time being, there is just the one S8 variant sold across Australia, which is powered by a six-cylinder, 4.0-litre bi-turbo hybrid engine. On the other hand, the price of the A8 range is between $193,872 and $208,472, plus on-road costs, representing a more accessible price-point for some.
With all-wheel drive as standard, the benefit of a slick eight-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission, as well as 420kW of power and 800Nm from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo motor, the Audi S8 is frighteningly quick. It can go from 0-100km/h in around 3.3 seconds, while Audi claims the S8 has a top speed of 250km/h. The S8 also benefits from a mild-hybrid set-up with a small electric motor and battery. One thing is for certain - don't blink or you'll miss it!
Structurally, the A8 and S8 are more or less identical in terms of build, platform and architecture. They share the same interior dimensions and wheelbase, so there is little difference in terms of practicality or space as far as legroom and headroom. Where the two vary considerably, however, is performance. The A8 is no slouch by any means, but a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel motor with 210kW of power doesn't quite hold up against the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V6 in the S8. Furthermore, the S8 also gets a host of additional features as standard, like massaging front seats, but you do pay a hefty premium for this model.
Greg Kable got it absolutely spot on when he reviewed the 2020 Audi S8 at its international launch for CarAdvice in late 2019. Here’s what Greg thought: The engineering brief for the new 2020 Audi S8 is surely one of the most demanding in the automotive business. Here’s a car that, on the one hand, must deliver top-shelf limousine-like qualities, with all th...
View ReviewTraditionally, the Audi S8 is the flagship of Audi’s range and the pinnacle of technology, safety and luxury. However, in previous generations the S8 has primarily stood as a luxury car with a big engine, and not necessarily an engaging, truly enjoyable drive. All of that purportedly changes here. For 2020, the Audi S8 takes on a more athletic bent, fit with...
View ReviewI’m expecting a bit of a thud to make its way through the chassis over a couple of those super aggressive speed bumps along Hickson Road at the Rocks, but miraculously there’s nothing. It’s as if they up and vanished right before my eyes. Remarkable. The word sublime falls short when it concerns the latest-generation Audi S8. Not even close when you factor i...
