Find out the Audi R8 2019 price today!
The Audi R8 is an ultra upmarket car that as you might expect, carries a significant price-tag with it. The opening price across the R8 range is just shy of $300,000, courtesy of the Coupe option. Almost in another league, however, is the Spyder Performance Quattro, which has a Suggested Retail Price of $416,500. Both units are powered by a V10, with on-road costs such as stamp duty, dealer delivery and luxury car tax excluded from these prices.
While the term supercar might be used somewhat loosely in this day and age, the Audi R8 is a throwback to one of the original supercars. A rarity among a dying breed, what with a growing number of auto-makers now relying upon turbochargers instead of naturally-aspirated engines. Powered by a thunderous V10 engine, the R8 is lightning quick, yet it is still rather effortless to drive. Put this head to head against just about any other production car on the market and let the results speak for themselves.
Sadly, curtains have been drawn on the Audi R8 supercar, with the German auto manufacturer announcing that it would no longer be produced for the Australian new car market. The company's hands were tied given its engine plant in Hungary no longer produces the V10 engine used in the cars sold across Australia. Instead, it will prioritise engine production for Audi R8s sold across Europe, which means it is a sad end for the R8 in Australia, but business as usual in overseas markets.
I love the Audi R8. Every time I get in one the nagging thought that it may be the last big-banger naturally-aspirated junior supercar migrates from the back of my mind to the front. The end of cars like the R8 is inevitable, and what we’d all lose is immeasurable. The 2019 Audi R8 Performance quattro drips in authentic, un-synthesised character like no othe...
View ReviewThere is typically no need for introductions when it comes to the Audi R8. But the 2019 Audi R8 isn’t the one you’ve come to know - its been sharpened up in terms of both its appearance, and its performance. This heavily facelifted version of the second-generation Audi R8 keeps its high-revving V10 engine, and turbochargers have been kept at bay, too. It can...
View Review“Don’t run out of talent.” That’s the tip in our drivers’ briefing from Frank Stippler, Nurburgring 24 Hour winner and Audi factory driver. I’m sharply reminded of those words of wisdom as I approach a particularly challenging 90-degree left-hand corner a little too hot. ‘Don’t run out of talent’ bounces around inside my head as I stomp on the brakes, my eye...
View ReviewIf it ain’t broke... We all know the saying. Hence revisions to the Audi R8 supercar are minimal. Few mechanical changes have occurred beyond a mild reskin inspired, Audi says, by its GT3 customer racing car, which easily rolls down the very same production line as regular R8 road cars. Visually, then, for the road car there has been a de-chroming of the gri...
