Find out the Audi A7 2019 price today!
With the backing of powerful turbo hybrid set-ups, the Audi A7 is incredibly nippy on the road. The combination of a 14.4-kWh battery pack and thunderous four-cylinder and six-cylinder options means this PHEV is a real terror to contend with. In its quickest guise, the Audi A7 can sprint from zero to 100km/h in a little over 5 seconds, and its top speed is in the vicinity of 245 to 250 km/h. Whether you need that extra power overtaking on a highway, or quick off the line at the traffic lights, the A7 isn't lacking when it comes to pace.
All of the Audi A7 variants are equipped with an automatic S-tronic transmission. S Tronic is a dual clutch, direct-shift gearbox (DSG) that allows you to combine and/or switch between automatic and manual transmission when driving. By default, the transmission will run in fully automatic mode, however, gears can be manually switched with the shift selector lever or with an optional rocker switch on the steering wheel. Various auto-makers have a similar feature, but S-tronic is Audi terminology.
The two variants on offer across Australia at the moment range in size from a four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo with onboard electric motor, to a V6 3.0-litre turbo hybrid utilising 48-volt hybrid-assist system. They offer 180kW at 5000rpm and 250kW at 5200rpm respectively, alongside torque of 370Nm at 1600rpm or 500Nm at 1730rpm. This equates to horsepower in the region of 335 to 362 horsepower, which is delivered to Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive through a seven-speed auto S-tronic transmission.
Early on, we had our reservations about how well the Audi A7 would do. A premium hatchback – seemed like a strange idea at the time. But, fast-forward to 2019 and the all-new Audi A7 has not only smartened up its looks, but also integrated a suite of new technologies that set this vehicle apart from the rest of its siblings. The styling is less 'in your face...
View ReviewThe 2019 Audi A7 45 TFSI model is the entry-point to the second-generation large luxury hatchback range. The 45 TFSI model is the only four-cylinder A7 in the range, powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 180kW/370Nm, using a seven-speed dual-clutch (S tronic) automatic and 'quattro' all-wheel drive. Fuel use is rated at 7.1L/100km. The...
View ReviewI decided that, for once, I would give particular credence to a carmaker’s communication and marketing ‘message’ of a new model, so as to frame up what it is in order to assess if it’s any good. As a journalist, I ordinarily take cursory note of this message, apply much salt, then report to readers that black is black when the message aims to convince that b...
View ReviewIf engineering worked anything like the fashion world, all-wheel steering would be its latest trend. It was fancy and new when it arrived with the Honda Prelude’s 4WS or Nissan Skyline’s HICAS, but then slowly became known as complex and expensive. It phased out at the start of the millennium. In 2013, though, Porsche returned it to vogue with the 991-series...
