Audi A1
The Audi A1 is the German manufacturer’s entry-level hatch designed to stick it to the competition. As you would come to expect in all of Audi’s vehicles, the focus is on a blend of luxury, efficiency and precision. However, what distinguishes the A1 from Audi’s other vehicles is the sharp pricing. Audi has pitched this as an affordable option to those looking for that little bit extra quality compared with the budget hatchbacks. Although the Audi A1 is only available in a five-door, sportback format, the 2019 lineup allows motorists to choose from several different variants. The A1 1.0 TFSI is the model’s base version, relying on a 3 cylinder, 1L turbocharged engine. If that’s not enough to capture your attention, consider the 1.4TSFI Sport, which proudly hosts a 1.4L engine, added controls and superior trim. It doesn’t end there however, since the 1.8TSFI S Line houses a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission, sports suspension and 1.8L turbocharged engine. With its sporty handling, impressive fuel efficiency, practical interior and a range of customisable options, the Audi A1 can be tailored to be the car you need, not just the one you want.

The new Audi A1 hatch brings next-level luxury to the city-car class, but in the same way a piccolo is a lot of money for a drink the size of a thimble, it comes at a price premium. Starting price for the base-model 2020 Audi A1 30 TFSI tested is $32,350 plus on-road costs, which in round numbers is about $35,000 drive-away. For that you can also get a well-...

Occupying the lowest rung on the premium ladder, the A1 represents an important entry point for  buyers keen to get their first taste of the Audi brand. For my family test I drove the second-generation Audi A1 35 TFSI S tronic. If looks are anything to go by, then, compared to the previous generation vehicle, this represents a major step in the right directi...

I’m in two minds about the 2020 Audi A1 40 TFSI S tronic, and neither one of them is terribly negative. It’s a reasonably accomplished compact city car that neatly sidesteps the 'my sister's high school graduation present' stigma, primarily through its smart styling and somewhat mature execution. And it’s also a surprisingly competent surrogate hot hatch, on...

Audi’s second go at the A1 hatchback is still the most affordable way into an Audi, and as the company's 'gateway' model to lifelong Audi ownership, first impressions count a lot. Nearly 10 years after the original Audi A1 made its debut, this new car arrives on the premium small hatchback scene to do battle with relatively few others. The Mini Cooper comes...

David As I previously advised you I purchased the Audi A1 Sportback as a surprise for my wife Lesley and Audi Alto at Artarmon salesmen was excellent in making our final deal. Lesley has now been driving her Audi for 3 months and she is over the moon, it is easy to drive, she uses park assist and it is economical to drive. We live in a unit and it is always...

The Audi A1 is just a beautiful car. It has grunt as it is sporty. It comfortably sits 4 passengers. It has fabulous automatic functions such as letting you know if you’re too close to a car or veering onto the wrong lane. The yellow with black roof is superb. Overall a very stylish and sporty car.
