Well, there was, but you have almost certainly missed out on it by now. Aston Martin rolled out one final version of the V12 Vantage in 2022, backed by a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that you will also spot in the DB11 and DBS Superleggera. This might be a relatively small sports car, but throw 500kW-plus of power under the bonnet and you have a terrifyingly quick vehicle on your hands. Model year 2022 is the last time we will see a V12 in the Vantage, and it could even be among Aston Martin's last V12 cars due to increasingly strict emissions regulations.
Only 333 units of the Aston Martin Vantage V12 were produced as part of the model's final production run. Of this total, a small number were set aside for Australian new car buyers, although as you can imagine, these went like hotcakes! At least we got one final swansong, as the last-generation of the V12 Vantage was back in 2017. The 2022 model year iteration is a fitting sign-off for this much-loved model, and it is sad to see the V12 consigned to the history books. Those lucky enough to secure one of the final models will be sitting pretty in the years to come.
The V12 is the top-tier version of the Vantage, and Aston Martin has put a claimed time of 3.5 seconds for this sports car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h. Thanks to 700 brake horsepower the Vantage V12 boasts a top speed of 322km/h, which is a modest improvement over the standard V8 Vantage. What is perhaps the most impressive feat associated with the V12 variant is its power-to-weight ratio, offering a remarkable 287kW per tonne. It's one lightning quick car, that's for sure.
Alfa Romeo has been hard at work refining the Giulia. The engineers in Turin have updated the infotainment, interior trim, and driver assists to make its beautiful sports sedan a better rival for its German foes – and they’ve done a pretty good job of it. But the more mundane, mainstream Giulia isn’t what the red-blooded Alfisti want to know about. They want...
