Find out the Abarth 595C 2021 price today!
The Abarth 595 name comes from a long and rich line of motoring history, dating back more than 50 years with Fiat's original creations. Originally tied to the Fiat 500 model, one of the more recent efforts to revitalise and give this hot unit a new lease on life was to rebrand it as the 595 thanks to Abarth's performance tweaking. Dating back to the original, however, the 500 name came from the reference to the nominal displacement of the two-cylinder engine, which was 500cc. When the Fiat 595 was launched with a new 595cc engine in the 1960s, the 595 drew inspiration from that, and lives on today as part of the Abarth stable.
While the Abarth 595 is already a performance-tweaked variant, the 695 really stands in a field of its own as a series of special, limited-edition variants. To further underscore the difference, one of the best ways to consider the duo is that the 595 is still technically a production car, with Abarth producing it and sending it to Fiat dealerships. On the contrary, 695 variants come with a greater level of hand-built craftsmanship,, offering a deeper level of individual customisation. So not only will you find more power, you'll find all sorts of bespoke options and features in the 695 range.
Abarth has loaded up its range with a thrilling 1.4-litre turbocharged engine. On paper, that might not sound like it is the cutting-edge and dynamic unit that you expect, but let's make this very clear, this line-up is not lacking in power. Once the turbo kicks in, each of these light-weight units are ready to soar. What's more, the turbo engine actually makes for an exciting suite of cars that are a joy to ride any day of the week.
