Find out the Abarth 595 2016 price today!
The Abarth 595 name comes from a long and rich line of motoring history, dating back more than 50 years with Fiat's original creations. Originally tied to the Fiat 500 model, one of the more recent efforts to revitalise and give this hot unit a new lease on life was to rebrand it as the 595 thanks to Abarth's performance tweaking. Dating back to the original, however, the 500 name came from the reference to the nominal displacement of the two-cylinder engine, which was 500cc. When the Fiat 595 was launched with a new 595cc engine in the 1960s, the 595 drew inspiration from that, and lives on today as part of the Abarth stable.
The Abarth 500 was an upgrade on the Fiat 500 city car, complete with a more imposing and sporty look, plus performance tuning to boot. Then came the next overhaul, the 595 and 595C, which effectively superseded the 500 series by giving it a whole new dimension in terms of power, dynamics, features and amenity. As such you can consider the 595 as the modern-day 500, however, it's much more than that, it is a complete upgrade.
You'll be delighted as an owner of the Abarth 595 because it boasts some delightful qualities that make it a pleasure to keep in the garage. Abarth has established a reputation for delivering well-built, durable and high quality cars that are in every which way reliable. Thanks to the particular level of tuning and craftsmanship across the range, it's easy to understand why this is a dependable brand, including the punchy 595. This is one car you can turn to and know that it has your back.
Abarth 595 Road Test Following the introduction of the sparky Abarth 595 model, which sits midway between the chic Fiat 500 and the fearsome Biposto, there’s now a bambino for everyone. Offering sporty performance from its small but almost perfectly balanced frame, the $28,000 (plus on-road costs) Abarth 595 is a hoot to drive. But does all that power in a d...
View ReviewFiat prices the tiny but punchy Abarth to win friends without breaking the bank. Entry to a feisty Fiat just got easier and cheaper. The new Abarth 595 is not as riotously rambunctious as some of the top-end models from Fiat's performance arm but is more user-friendly and likely to be more popular with buyers. It's definitely calm, the ride is more compliant...
View ReviewAfter considering cars like the Volkswagen Polo GTI, an older BMW 130i Sport and of course the Abarth. I decided the Abarth was what I was after, and here’s why. I found the Polo to be fairly generic and rather boring most of the time. I considered a BMW 130i but felt the age of the car was something that I needed to be aware of, along with the rather poor f...
View ReviewAbarth used to translate as Italian for expensive. Not any more WHAT IS IT?The cheapest Abarth ever offered in Australia. The Abarth 595 is the new entry point to Fiat’s performance-focused line-up, and is designed to bridge the gap between the regular 500 range and the existing, and more expensive, Abarth models. WHY WE’RE DRIVING ITBecause on paper the 595...
